The title track is from the album Six/Nine.

The single version and album version of the a-side and b-side are different. Most notably different is the length of the song. "Kodo" single clocks in at 6:27, album version at 6:52. "Rakuen" single clocks in at 4:50, album version at 4:37.

The single's packaging is a textured material and the cover photo seems to be glued on.

The original artwork that was used as the basis for this single as well as the album was "Jerk Face" by American artist Robert Longo. He has designed the cover for other artist's albums, directed music videos (New Order, Megadeth, R.E.M.), and directed the cyberpunk movie "Johnny Mnemonic". "Johnny Mnemonic" was based on the short story by William Gibson, who also wrote "Mona Lisa Overdrive", which happens to be the title of a Buck-Tick album a few years later.

The single was re-released on September 21, 1995 with different artwork that appears to be an inverse of the original artwork on black packaging. This was because "Rakuen" caused some controversy with the Japanese Muslim community as part of the melody was lifted from the reading of the Koran. The offense was supposedly removed and the album was re-released as well in September.

The b-side has a different version on the album entitled "Rakuen (Inori Negai)".

The music video has 2 different versions, both directed by Wataru Hayashi. (Fourth single in a row.) The b-side also has a music video directed by Wataru Hayashi. Out of all the video directors that Buck-Tick has worked with, Wataru has worked with the band the most.
