The title track is from the album Kurutta Taiyo.

"MAD" is not an acronym, (but Buck-Tick lets the listener decide if the song's title is "Mad" or an acronym). A year after its release, Hisashi was bored in his hotel room and had different colored markers lying around. He thought his guitar's plain white finish was too boring and decided to spice it up. He took a marker and wrote the number of his hotel room on the guitar and also the words "Monster Attack Dynamite". This may lead some to believe "MAD" stands for "Monster Attack Dynamite".

Aside from the mini-album Romanesque, this is the first Buck-Tick single to sell less than 100,000 copies.

This is the first major label single with lyrics written by Hisashi Imai.

This is the first single whose b-side is available on a studio album, though it is not the same album as the a-side. Also, "Angelic Conversation" is not the same version from Taboo, it was re-recorded for this single.

This is the first single where a member of the band was not on the cover artwork.

A video single was also released with music videos for both the a-side and b-side. "MAD" was directed by Yuichi Araya. I am not sure who directed "Angelic Conversation."
